Congratulations you have invested wisely in a device that is
recognised in over 50 countries as state-of-the-art in cutting
fuel costs, improving
performance and reducing harmful emissions.
1000's of
motorists worldwide can contest to the amazing benefits of
fitting an Ethos MAXPower unit and it has also been featured on
the cover of many prestigious automotive magazines.
1.0 INSTRUCTIONS
1.1Do fuel consumption tests of at least
three full tanks of fuel prior to installation using our recommended 'Brim-to-Brim'
testing method as detailed on the form provided -
1.2
Locate the fuel supply line coming from the fuel tank. On modern fuel
injection engines there are usually two fuel lines - one is the supply
line and the other the return line back to the tank. It is imperative
that the unit is fitted to the fuel supply line.
1.3 Fuel
lines are usually made from metal, rubber or plastic; the rubber,
plastic or non-ferrous metal fuel lines are preferable. If it is a
ferrous fuel line (i.e. the unit is attracted to it) carefully snap one
half of the unit apart and rotate the neodymium Super Magnet through
180 degrees and clip it back together again. The two halves of the
module will then repel each other which will force the field of the unit
through the ferrous fuel line much more quickly.
1.4 As a
precautionary measure, to avoid any possible interference with
electronic components, keep it at a distance of 10 cm away from any
electronic sensors or equipment.
1.5 For a vehicle with a
carburettor, install the device on the fuel supply line feeding the
carburettor from the fuel tank, as close to the carburettor as
possible.
1.6 Vehicles with fuel injection systems
normally have two lines running parallel between the fuel tank and the
engine. One may be larger than the other and this will usually be the
supply line on which you want to fit the unit.
Both lines will
go to the fuel supply rail with the fuel injector units on - one will go
straight into the fuel rail which is the supply line to fit the unit to
and the other will go to a small 'Top Hat' shaped unit, pictured below,
which is the fuel pressure relief valve, making this one the fuel return
line back to the tank.
1.7 Place the two halves of the MAXPower
unit that are similar, face-to-face, on the line and secure in place
using tie-wrap supplied.
2.0 IMPORTANT
Due to the cleaning and removal process of
the carbon/varnish deposits inside the cylinders, the fuel consumption
and emissions may temporarily increase during the initial cleaning cycle. Mileage will
stabilise after a short time. Noticeable improvement may take up to four
tanks of fuel and, for optimum results to be achieved, please allow
3,000 Km.
A clean air filter, or a measure of carburettor or
injector cleaner mixed in the fuel will also help to give faster results
and regular servicing is obviously still necessary. Increased
performance and smoother running will often also be
noticed.
3.0 NOTE
The Ethos MAXPower unit consists of a pair of
neodymium super magnets which are powerful enough to fracture the hydrocarbon chains in
the passing fuel allowing it to mix more readily with the oxygen in the
air and thus burn much more efficiently when ignited.
As part of the rare earth family of permanent
magnets, Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB37 - Neodymium(Nd) Iron(Fe) Boron(B) is
the most advanced and most powerful permanent magnet material available
today.
4.0 APPLICATIONS
The Ethos MAXPower unit is recommended for
fuel lines up to 3cm in diameter. For more performance and larger cc
engines it is recommended that you install two or more MAXPower units.
When fitting multiple
units place them side by side along the fuel line but rotate them so
that they are at 90 degrees to
each other.
The following table is a guide to the
optimum number of
units to fit:
Petrol Engines
Up to 1.6 Litres

you the best possible results and will still give you a rapid return on
your investment. We want you to enjoy the very best savings and
reduction in your vehicle emissions as possible.
MAXPower FAQ's
Q.1 Why install the MAXPower unit 10cm
away from any electrical sensors?
A.1 In the newer vehicles fitted with
electronic fuel injection and electronic management systems, many
manufacturers are placing sensors close to the combustion chamber. These
sensors may be hard to locate, as some may even be built-in and come in
all different shapes and sizes. The MAXPower unit is so powerful that it
could affect a sensor into giving a false reading indicating that the
vehicle is requiring an even richer mixture, if the MAXPower unit is
installed in close proximity to it.
Q.2 Is the MAXPower unit just a magnet?
A.2 No, it is not a regular magnet, it
contains a pair Neodymium Super Magnets that are powerful enough to
fracture the hydrocarbon chains in the passing fuel allowing it to mix
more readily with the oxygen in the air and thus burn much more
efficiently when ignited.
Q.3 How does the MAXPower unit work?
A.3 The Ethos MAXPower unit conditions
the fuel in such a way that it combines more readily with the oxygen in
the air which leads to a much more complete and efficient combustion
process.
Q.4 What is a hydrocarbon?
A.4 A hydrocarbon is the hydrogen and carbon content of the fuel.
Q.5 What are hydrocarbon chains?
A.5 Hydrocarbon molecules that cluster
and grow causing molecules to be trapped from air during the combustion.
Q.6 What octane will it work on?
A.6 All octane levels. Using the
MAXPower unit enables higher octane
performance to be achieved from lower octane fuel.
Q.7 Can the MAXPower unit give an extra
boost?
A.7 Yes, customers worldwide have
reported higher performance on lower octane fuel and an increase in
power.
Q.8 Why can't the oil companies provide
this boost?
A.8 Because the fracturing of
hydrocarbon chains occurs only when the fuel is passed through the
MAXPower unit. When the engine is turned off, the fracturing of
the hydrocarbon chains stops and, in a matter of hours, the condition of
the fuel returns to its more congested state. The phenomena of fracturing
the hydrocarbon chains can only be induced by the MAXPower unit when it
is fitted to the vehicle.
Q.9 Will it work on fuels other than
petrol?
A.9 Yes, it will work on petrol and
diesel fuels, but the percentage of improvement will differ from one
type to the other. Bigger improvements are usually seen on petrol
vehicles.
Q.10 Can I install the MAXPower
Unit?
A.10 Yes, however you must make sure
you are placing the MAXPower unit on the correct fuel line i.e. "the one
under pressure from the fuel pump". Note that fuel injection engines have
two lines running in parallel between the fuel tank and the engine, a
supply line and a return line, so make sure to install it on the supply
line.
Ethos MAXPower Super Fuel Saver
Q.11 What kind of fuel line?
A.11 All types of line: metal, plastic
or rubber, but optimum results are achieved on non-ferrous lines. See
notes above about fitting units to ferrous fuel lines.
Q.12 Will it work on engines fitted with
fuel injection systems?
A.12 Yes, place the MAXPower unit as
close to the injection system as possible.
Q.13 Can I place the MAXPower unit before
the fuel injection pump?
A.13 Yes, but preferably after if
there is space to fit it there.
Q.14 Do I need more than one MAXPower unit
for fuel injected systems?
A.14 The average small
petrol engine, up to 1.6 Litres, will only require one unit. Engines
over 1.6 Litres and diesel engines should be fitted with at least two
units for optimum results. Please refer to the table above for the exact
number of units required for different engine sizes.
Q.15 - Do I need to adjust my
carburettor?
A.15 No, you should not have to make
any adjustments to see the improvement as long as the engine was well
tuned in the first place. Tuning the engine after the initial bedding in
period can give further improvements as you are then tuning the engine
to take full advantage of the cleaner engine and the now more optimum
fuel burn given by the MAXPower unit.
Q.16 How far back from the combustion
chamber will the device work?
A.16 We have installations in which
the MAXPower unit is working at three feet from the combustion chamber
but, in practice, the closer you can get it, the better.
Q.17 When should I check my mileage and
when can I expect results?
A.17 Make sure you check your mileage
before you install the MAXPower unit using our recommended
'Brim-to-Brim' testing method - Click
Here. Mileage is the sum of the total
miles driven divided by the amount of fuel used. Most people believe
they are receiving much better mileage from their vehicle than they actually are. We suggest
that you drive at least 2,000Km of normal driving before checking for
improvements.
Q.18 Why 2,000Km?
A.18 This allows the MAXPower unit to do
its job of removing the carbon/varnish deposits. Remember it took
thousands of miles to build up these deposits in your engine so
conversely it will take some time to remove them again.
Q.19 Could my mileage decrease and
why?
A.19 Yes, it is possible that your
engine could temporally decrease in mileage and increase in emissions at
the beginning of the cleaning/removal period. This condition is only
temporary and will stabilise.
Q.20 How much improvement can I
expect?
A.20 This depends on the size and type
of the engine, mode of driving, city or motorway driving, long distance
or short plus seasonal and weather conditions. Fuel savings of up to 20%+ have been reported. In addition, many customers report
increased performance, easier starting, smoother running and a lower
operating temperature of the engine.
Q.21 How does the MAXPower unit clean the
engine?
A.21 Your engine builds up
carbon/varnish deposits due to incomplete combustion (incomplete burning
of the fuel).
Molecules that are non-homogeneous are found in both gasoline and diesel
fuels. As these molecules begin to cluster and grow, some molecules
become trapped during combustion, air is unable to reach the trapped
molecules and they do not burn completely. Instead they are expelled
into the atmosphere or retained as carbon/varnish deposits inside your
engine. The MAXPower unit literally breaks the clusters of molecules
apart and stirs them up, allowing oxygen in the air to reach the
individual molecules and thus achieving much more complete
combustion.
Q.22 Do the climatic conditions make a
difference?
A.22 Yes, in winter seasons, engines
are run more without the vehicle moving and electrical appliances like
windscreen wipers and heaters all add additional drains on power. Windy
and icy conditions also affect results. However there'll be proportional
improvements.
Q.23 Does high temperature effect
performance?
A.23 The MAXPower unit is designed to
operate in temperatures up to 590oF (310oC). The
MAXPower unit should not be placed in close proximity to the point of
exhaust or the exhaust pipe.
Q.24 Why do larger, older engines usually
see the fastest and biggest improvements?
A.24 The MAXPower unit, to operate,
requires that the fuel flows through its very powerful field. Fuel flow is
important to the process of breaking up the hydrocarbon chains. The
smaller the engine size, the more efficient it is and the slower is the
fuel flow. With larger engines it is the reverse, giving faster fuel
flow rates and quicker results.
